This was a real Dragon!!!!!!I'm serious the dragon in "Dragonslayer" was SO realistic that it could only have been played by a REAL Dragon!!!
Plot: An old Sorcerer (Sir Ralph Richardson R.I.P.) grumps around his lair with his dimwitted assistant (Peter McNichol). A group of villagers from a faraway town arrive, pleading for help in killing a dragon that has been terrorizing their lives. The old man agrees, but on the way is killed by the town "Sheriff", on orders from the King. WHY? Because the King rules through fear of the dragon and he doesn't want that fear to go away.
Upon arrival, the dimwitted assistant fights the Dragon, and seemingly kills it. As the town celebrates, one of the villagers thought to be a man, turns out to be a pretty damn hot chick (Catlin Clarke) with a NICE rack of boobies!!! The Dragon, however, is NOT dead and returns to cause more carnage. The old sorcerer is brought back to life, and the battle begins.
This is a damn fine movie. What impressed me the most is the dragon. It moves, walks, acts, and flies like a REAL dragon would if it existed. It doesn't glide through the air, it flaps its wings, like a bat, and it seems to be an effort for it to do so. The dragon is supposed to be very old in the story, and it looks old, tired, and weather beaten. It appears the dragon doesn't want to really be fighting, but it is forced into it by the sorcerer. And WHAT a climactic battle between the two at the end!!!!!
Great effects, great score, great story. Rent it today!!!!!Dragonslayer is not a Drag-on your time!!!!!!!!
