An interesting viewing from modern days back to past days is Splendor in the Grass. As very much there is a difference from the teen-troubles and angst of today versus that of the "olden days," when it all boils down to love, there are still strikingly many similarities. Splendor is nicely paced, with the lead roles being filled by Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood. Both of our protagonists are not only well-written, but very strongly acted; Beatty, not as stupefying an actor as he has become (not in choice of roles, but in his sheer ditziness as an adult person), is composed and aptly pensive, while Wood, by no doubt a great beauty, gracefully inhibits her metamorphosis and breakdown. There are still a share of lull plot-logs (mostly when in dealing with the parents), but those two performances, in addition to the lovely hue of Technicolor variants we get, well make this sitting down for, or going back to find.Final verdict: B+.
