"You know, my head explodes when you play Barney songs..."
Now this is a movie that had potential. Honestly, it did. It starred Jack Nicholson, Tim Burton directed it. It looked like a good movie...But it wasn't.
Why was that? Why did it let me down?
Frankly, to be frank and frankish... it was shallow. A shallow movie that really didn't have much in terms of content, dialogue, setting. The whole milieu of the thing was wrong.
It, as far as campish comedies go, was not campy enough. Really. When one has a movie has an outlandish plot where an ex-Las Vegas boxer goes mano a alienano with an alien, and the aliens themselves look straight out of a Disney Cartoonist-reject's sketchbook, I'd reckon some camp would be expected.
So where was it? It wasn't here. The actors didn't have it, the sets didn't have it, the plot didn't have it. Consequently, the movie didn't have it.And that's why Mars Attacks! let me down.
