"Film is truth, 24 times a second. - Jean Luc Godard"
YAH, YAH, YAH... SO IT'S NOT REALISTIC, NEITHER IS CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THRID KIND, BUT THEY'RE BOTH DAMN FUCKIN' FUN!Every review I've ever read about this movie bags on it for not being "realistic". Tell ya what, go to a movie store, and look for Hackers. What section do you find it in? Action/Sci-Fi (Emphasis on SCI-FI). Do you know what the Sci-Fi part stands for? Science Fiction. Which means a work of fiction based loosely on Science fact. Granted, it was very, very loosely based on Science, but hey, that wouldn't be very appealing if it was white screens and black text on a terminal emulator would it? NO. This movie was a fun, well-acted (yes, well-acted) movie, with a good plot, Watch the movie from the standpoint of a person who has a vague idea of how to operate a computer and you will find that, that is exactly what many people view "hackers" as. I bet you would have like the movie if it was called, "COOL GUYS AND A HOT CHICK, THAT GO TO RAVES AND FUCK WITH PEOPLES COMPUTERS" sounds intriguing, huh? Well maybe not, but toy with the idea. I'm going to go out on a limb, with the fear of public castration in the back of my mind, and say that this is one of my favorite movies.ACCURATE? NO, HELL NO. FUN? FUCKIN A!
